Wall Art in our Country Kitchen

I recently blogged about the new green walls in our kitchen, if you missed it, you can catch up HERE. When I wrote up that blog post, I had just finished painting and so the walls were still bare, but since that blog post, I have hung up some wall art and thought I’d show it to you today.

The first thing I hung up is this horse painting that you may remember seeing on our fireplace not too long ago, as Seen HERE.

This horse painting is actually just a framed print that once belong to my husband’s grandpa. Jake believes that it was hanging up in his grandpa’s barn 🙂 I love it! I love horses and think this one is so handsome.

I was planning on staining the frame a dark brown and I still might but after hanging it up on the wall I felt like that lighter wood color kinda flowed with some of the wicker in our home, so now I’m not sure if I will stain in or not, we’ll see. I love this next picture because you can see both the brown and the blue painted walls. I’m loving all of our home’s new paint colors.

In my last blog post, I shared all of our home’s paint colors and my inspiration behind them. If you missed that post you can catch up HERE.

The red on our kitchen cabinets may be going away after the holidays are over, but I’m not quite sure with what color just yet.

So the second thing I added to the walls in our kitchen is this old wicker carrier basket. I have had it hanging here on this wall before but I’m not sure that I ever blogged about it. It’s a really fun wicker piece that I found at a yard sale years ago. I believe it’s made for wine bottles because there are slots at the bottom of it. Anyway, I love the added texture that it brings to our kitchen.

When I took these pictures I just kept the wicker basket empty, but when I was finished taking these pictures I moved a plant to it and liked it. I’ll share a pictures at the end of this post of the wicker with the plant in it.

I just can’t get over these new colors in our home. I love them so much! Our home just feels so different now.

Another thing I’m debating on staining dark brown are these bamboo stools. I think that they would look a whole lot prettier painted in a rich brown. It’s kinda funny how I’ve been staining dark all of my previously painted white furniture. You may recall the mirror that just went from white to gel stained. See it HERE.

Gel stain is my new best friend. I still can’t believe that I gel-stained all of our wood floors. If you are new here, you can learn all about our gel-stained floors HERE.

And I’m also thinking of staining our dining room table too. I’m just loving the darker wood colors so much better than light woods these days. So ya, stick around if you want to see if and when I get around to these other projects.

And lastly, as I said, I placed a plant in the wicker basket at the end of taking all of these pictures. I think it looks pretty and give purpose to the wicker basket.
