Halloween Decorating around our Living Room

How are we already halfway through October? Seriously!? Slow it down October! Ha! Is this month going by fast for you to? Yesterday, I did a little Halloween decorating around our living room and if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook than you may have seen a little video I put together of the room, but today I wanted to share pictures of my decorating here on the blog. Reels are fun, but nothing beats looking at still pictures. Agree?

I had the most fun decorating the fireplace mantel. I started off by adding the fishnet-like decorations of the BOO sign, and three bats. These are fun. I believe I bought them at a yard sale one year but now I can’t remember for sure. I’ll add some similar Halloween decorations at the end of this post if you are interested.

Next I added all of the rubber flies. I was able to just lick them to get them to stick to the glass of the horse painting. They may just be my favorite part of the whole look.

The bats turned out looking pretty fun too.

The horse painting was Jakes’s grandpas. I found it in Jake’s work office and brought it home. It has some water damaged to it but I kinda like it better that way because it makes it look more aged.

I did not make the adorable string of yarn ghost, but somebody did. I got it at a yard sale. It still had the 25 cent price sticker on it when I got it out of our box of decorations. I think these yarn ghost would be really fun to make and so I went to Pinterest and did a search for yarn ghost and I found THIS TUTORIAL that looks like it would be a good one with easy to follow instructions.

Now moving around the room. I added a black leather pillow and a black and white blanket to our couch

And then I just stacked some books on our coffee table. The top one is just a box that looks like a book. The middle book is one that I’m currently reading and enjoying, and then I thought a Stephen King book would be appropriate for Halloween.

Now onto the other side of the room, I did a little bit of Halloween decorating on my old wood shelf.

First I placed my spider plant into a large black plastic witch cauldron.

And then, I thought this was a clever idea, I put spider rings onto the leaves of my spider plant. I kinda want to get even more spider rings to add to it because I think it looks so fun.

This Curiosity shelf already has a bit of a Halloween look to it with all of the skulls, bones and jars, so it was fun to work with for my Halloween decorating. Then I just mixed in a few rubber rats and snakes.

And then lastly, I decorated this little side table in the room.

The polaroid Pictures are a Free printable that I shared years ago. I love to decorate with them every year. And then I just added some rats, spooky goblets, and a carved wooden box with skulls on it. And that’s it!
