New Green Walls in Kitchen

On Friday I went to the hardware store and picked up some paint. Today is Sunday and I’m sitting down to share pictures of our newly painted kitchen. This is why I love paint so much, you can totally transform your home in three days tops!

Isn’t this green pretty? This color is called Caldwell Green by Benjamin Moore (HC-124). The Benjamin Moore Website describes this color as, An Attractive hunter green with regal blue undertones.

I love the way this color looks next to crisp white. This darker color allows our white trim to really pop which is a big difference compared to how it just blended in before with the lighter wall color.

So do you think I kept the red cabinets?

Yes, Yes I did keep the red lower cabinets and stove mount hood…..at least for now.

Since we’re so close to Christmas, I decided to leave the red for now. It will look festive for the holidays. But come next year, I plan to paint over the red. I actually want to strip the paint from the stove mount; both the upper and lower portions. Remember when it was wood before? Well I’m annoyed at myself for ever painting over it, so now I want to see if I can strip off the many layers of paint that I’ve added to it since. As I recall, there are at least 4 different colors on there. Anyone have a paint stripper product that they would recommend to me????

I then plan to paint the lower cabinets white or something a little more neutral…. I think. At least that is the plan for now. But with me you never really know what’s to come about, HA! Sometimes I even surprise myself.

This is like the seventh time I’ve painted this kitchen. But as I said in the beginning of this post, you can literally change the look of your room in just a weekend, so why not change it over and over again? It’s only paint afterall.

I don’t do a whole lot of Christmas decorating in our kitchen, but I do like to add some greenery and string lights so I’m looking forward to that.

I actually don’t do a lot of decorating in our kitchen any way. This wood tray that I’ve turned into a bar/ fruit and vegetable stand is about all I need or want out on our counters.

Although I do want to add something to that back wall there. I’ve done different hooks and shelves in the past, but I can’t decide what I want to put there this time.

I love how the green wall looks next to the blue wall in our dining room.

And I especially love how the green wall looks next to the blue wall next to the brown wall.

And then I really really love how the Green, Blue, Brown and Red all work together in our home. It’s weird to think that these walls were all painted in a light greyish color less than a month ago. It all just snowballed after I painted our dining room blue.

And then I just flipped that last picture to see the room in a different angle. I accidentally flipped the picture when I was resizing it for the blog and I decided that I liked the reverse angle better.

Anyway, What did you do this weekend? What projects are you working on? What do you think of my Green and Red Kitchen?

How fun! I painted my kitchen a dark green as well. I still love it years later. What about a mustardy yellow color for the cabinets? Is that too bold or out there?

Thank you Deana! Dark green is such a great color, I’m sure it will stay for a while in my kitchen too. I absolutely LOVE the idea of Mustard Yellow in our Kitchen. I have a couple of Mustard Yellow kitchen’s pinned on Pinterest, but I just can’t get my husband on board. He doesn’t love it as much as I do. 😊
