Ottoman turned weight bench in bedroom

I love to share pictures of our bedroom because it’s one of my favorite rooms in our home. Today, I wanted to share an ottoman that I re-covered and plan to use as a weight bench up here in our bedroom.

If you are new here, my husband, Jake and I took the boards off of our old fence and added them to our ceiling. You can see that post HERE. You can learn more about the Wave Wallpaper HERE.

And then recently I hung these outdoor String lights to our ceiling and they added a fun ambient glow.

I should have taken pictures of my ottoman makeover, but sorry, I didn’t. This ottoman is old, we’ve had it forever, it was once leather but the leather ripped and so I have covered it several different times, and this last time I added some denim fabric to it. I actually used my electric screwdriver and screws to attached the fabric and it worked great.

I also apologize that my pictures of the ottoman are so dark. There’s a skylight window above the ottoman that’s creating a lot of dark shadows.

But the whole purpose of bringing the ottoman up stairs into our bedroom is so that I can use it as a weight bench. We have a weight bench in our garage but our garage is not heated and it’s getting too cold to workout out there, so I brought the weights into our bedroom and plan to workout up here.

This white antique bench use to sit at the end of our bed but now it works to store my dumbbells and yoga mat.

So now I should have no excused not to work out.

Because of the colder weather, I added some extra blankets to our bed and then this Wicker Trunk in our room holds our extra sheets, pillows, and more blankets.

We have a big air conditioner unit that we place in our window during the summer, so it was nice to be able to remove it now for fall/winter. It’s a bit of an eye sore, but very nice to have during the summer.

I love that the ottoman looks cute at the end of our bed, and will be great for putting on shoes but that it will also be useful as a workout bench as well. It’s dual purposed.

And I’ll end this post with a picture of Stormy.
