Cozy Fall Living Room Tour and a New Door Color.

I have been looking forward to fall since the middle of summer when temperatures were in the 100’s for weeks at a time. So I am more than excited for fall to finally arrive. Bring on the cooler temps, beautiful autumn colors, and of course bring on all of the cozy fall vibes. I’ve been adding fall touches around our living room and today I thought I’d give you a little tour. Plus, stick around to the end and you’ll see our new front door color!

So one of the first things I did to cozy up our living room for fall was to bring more candles into the space. We love to cozy up with candles. Jake and I bought this amber colored lantern on the Oregon Coast as an Anniversary gift years ago. I love how pretty it looks all lit up. (HERE is a similar lantern)

Next I brought in my cozy white knit blankets. I love using blankets that look pretty just thrown on the sofa and chairs and white is always a cozy color.

I then went outside and cut off a few branches from our smoke tree. I can’t wait for the trees outside to start changing colors, but until then, these branches are pretty enough to hold me over until then.

I placed the branches in some amber colored bottles, I plan to write up a blog post soon to share more about this project and these bottles, so stay tuned.

I added more of the branches to a vase pitcher on a little table in the room.

This little area in our living room is becoming my favorite spot in the house to decorate. There’s a lot going on here with the Gallery Wall (More seen Here) and my Curiosity shelf (More Seen Here).

I go all summer long without needing a lamp, but as soon as fall arrives it gets darker earlier and so a lamp is necessary. I love using lamps rather than overhead lighting because lamps have a softer glow. HERE is my favorite place to shop for lamps.

That gold candle holder is from HERE, but it’s from years ago, although I did notice that they had some other really pretty candle holders.

The picture above is my favorite, it really shows you my lived-in home style. There’s a lot going on in that one image 🙂

In case you are wondering, I still really love my dark gel-stained floors. If you missed it, you can read all about my floors HERE.

I moved a few things around on the bookshelves in the room, but otherwise they look about the same as the last time I shared them.

I like having the bookshelves filled with books rather than a bunch of other random objects. Books just automatically have that cozy fall vibe to them. Don’t you agree?

Now for the last part; our new front door color. Our door was painted red before. On both the interior and exterior sides of the door. I was wanting less red in the room and so I painted the door white.

I love white, and I had almost forgotten how much I love white until I painted the door white. The white paint instantly lighted and brightened the space so much.

The exterior side of the door got painted white as well. And honestly I can’t believe I hadn’t painted it white before since it is my favorite color after all. I’ve painted this door six times! And now I finally went with white. Awwwwww!

So What do you think about our cozy fall living room tour? Any Thoughts about the White door?
