Today I want to give you a reason to drink beer….. so that you can turn the bottles into fun fall home decor! 😂 Don’t drink beer? That’s perfectly fine too, because my favorite bottles are some non-alcoholic ones.
I recently shared our Cozy Fall Living Room Tour, Did you see it? I’ve been trying to cozy up our home and get it all ready for fall.
Well in my fall living room tour, I shared our fireplace mantel where I have turned some empty beer bottles into vases by sticking some branches in them. I just cut some branches off of our smoke tree outside and stuck the branches into the bottles for a quick and easy fall look.
I love this idea because one; the bottles themselves are a beautiful amber color and 2; it was totally free to do and a great way to recycle.
So the very best bottles that I have found for this project are these ones pictures below. We picked up a case of these pricey, but so worth it, Yummy Yummy non-alcohol Ginger Beer at Costco and have really enjoyed them. The case gave me plenty of bottles to decorate with, but I have also seen this ginger beer at my local grocery store and you can buy it in a four pack.
The reason why these are the Best bottles for this project is because the labels peel right off like a sticker and they don’t leave a bunch of glue that you have to scrub off with a razor blade like most bottles do. Truthfully, I just thought these bottles were so beautiful and I couldn’t get myself to throw them out. #horderProblems 🙂
Have you tried this ginger beer before? It’s the best one that I have tried. I like to make cocktails in the fall with ginger beer. Check our my recipe for ABG; Apple, Bourbon, Ginger. It’s a delicious cocktail to enjoy in the fall.
So this isn’t the first time that I’ve decorated our mantel for fall with beer bottles. I pulled these next pictures from a super old blog post. It’s an oldie but goodie.
Here I had placed tall white votive candles into the beer bottles and let the wax drip down them.
I have always loved this look of wax covered bottles, it feels very bohemian to me.
So I mentioned in that really old post that to achieve this drippy wax look I actually had to take the candle out of the bottle and let the wax drip off of the candle and onto the bottle. Once I achieved the look that I wanted I stuck the candle back into the bottle. Candles are usually made to not drip so much and so I had to play around a bit to create this look. But come on, who doesn’t love to play with candle wax, right?
Even though this fall mantel look was from years ago, I still really like it today. Sometimes I feel like I use to be so much more creative than I am today. That was pretty clever there how I used clothes pins to hang sepia toned pictures and a fall branch to the wire of an old picture frame.
So those are just two ideas that I have for reusing beer bottles, Do you have any other ideas? I’d love to hear them.
