I love photo gallery walls. They are fun to look at and tell so many stories. I’ve recently added a new photo gallery wall in our living room and wanted to share it with you today.
So remember when I covered the walls in our Office/Sunroom with pictures and Art? It was so much fun. You can see it HERE. Well since then, my oldest son was wanting his own room and so we moved him into that room, and therefore all of the art needed to come down to be replaced with purple walls and string lights. I actually Love my son’s room, it’s super cool. Perhaps I’ll share it with you some day.
Well anyway, after I took all of the art and pictures down from the sunroom I needed a new place to hang them and so that is how this new gallery wall in our living room came to be. I actually down sized quite a bit and donated a lot of the art and extra wall hangings that didn’t really mean that much to us to a local thrift store.
All of the photos that are hanging up are really special to our family. We have pictures of past memories and grandparents. How adorable is this next picture of my husband Jake when he was just little, cuddled up and taking a nap with his grandpa.
Something I like to do, and even blogged about in the past (As seen HERE) is to use fabric as photo mats. I picked up this black and white floral fabric as a souvenir from a trip to HAWAII. I used this same fabric to cover the stools in our kitchen (Seen HERE) And then I just used the very last of the fabric scraps in my picture frames as mats. I absolutely love the pops of tropical print in my photo gallery.
I only had enough of the fabric to add to three of the frames. I also mixed up the frames by using black, white, cream, and wood frames. I like that the whole look is very neutral, but not at all boring.
I also hung up this painting on the corner wall. This painting is of my husband’s grandpa’s Ranch that he spent a lot of time at growing up. This painting really ties in great with the other pictures and frames.
I’m loving this whole corner of our living room now. It looks and feels so cozy
Now I’ll just share a few more pictures of the rest of our living room. The fireplace is still painted a light blue. I blogged about it not too long ago HERE, but truthfully, I feel like I may want to paint the fireplace back to white. HA! The blue feels a little out of place with the more traditional, British Colonial style that I’m leaning more towards these days.
Any thoughts? Keep it blue or paint it white? Also, I’ve gone back and forth a bunch of times too about keeping or removing the brick wallpaper around the fireplace. It’s black tile under the brick wallpaper and I think the black would also go better with my style these days.
The red couch however will be staying. This couch is so old but we love it! It’s super comfortable. It’s from Arhous which has really great furniture.
Behind the couch I have some straw bags and hats hanging by the front door as well as my New Curtains that I’m still so happy about. See my blog post about the curtains HERE if you are interested, and that’s where you can also snag a 15% off discount code.
And then right through those french doors is my son’s teenage purple retro room and no longer my pretty little sunroom. But that’s okay. He’s so happy with his new room which makes me happy.
So what do you think about our new picture gallery wall in our living room?

Thank you for stopping by today,

Great idea with the mix up of mats! Very cute nook area. Love how it is all things meaningful to your family. You are super generous to give sunroom to your son. I don’t think I would share 🙂 For fireplace, I say keep the brick and go for the white look!

Thank you Laura! HA! I realized I really wasn’t using our sunroom all that often so it worked out fine. Thanks for your input on our fireplace, I’ll keep you post on what I end up doing.
Love it all! Especially love your oldest getting his own room!

Awwww, Thanks Karma!!! 😊 Liam is pretty Stoked about it!
I would remove the brick wallpaper around the fireplace. I think painting the mantle a glossy black might really make it pop!
