Did you catch my Nutcracker themed Living Room? If not, you can catch up here. Well in that post I shared how I decided to scatter our nutcracker collection throughout our living and dining rooms instead of just group them together on our bookshelves like I normally do. So Today, I’ll be sharing the second part of our nutcracker theme Christmas decorating with you.
I’m still really loving the new blue walls in our dining room. I think that the color makes for a pretty backdrop against my Christmas decor. You can learn more about the blue walls HERE.
So as you can see we have placed nutcrackers above each of the corner hutches. I’m actually kinda surprised we’ve never thought to put nutcracker here before. And I say, We because it’s a tradition at our home to put the nutcrackers out as a family, well truthfully, It’s mostly Jake and the boys’ tradition, but then I always go around and move things a bit. So this was their great idea to put the nutcrackers up here and I liked it enough to leave them there. HA!
Growing up Jake had a tradition with his mom where they would get a new nutcracker each year. We have continued with the tradition with our boys, but we don’t always get one every year. So some of our nutcrackers our from Jake’s childhood and some are new. The Barrister nutcracker is from the year Jake graduated from Law School and the Angel nutcracker is from the year I entered into the family. They are a lot of fun for us.
We then have a few other nutcrackers on our buffet table.
I’ve added a Santa hat to our marlin in the past, but this year I made him extra cozy by also giving him a scarf.
I wanted the room to feel cozy and so I added some pillows and blankets to the chairs. I think this is the easiest way to cozy up a dining room.
I’ve already shared how I decorated this Chandelier for Christmas so you can see that Post HERE if you missed it. I love how festive this chandelier looks and it just may be one of my favorite Christmas decorating ideas this year.
I’m looking forward to eating some yummy Christmas meals around this table soon. Do you have favorite Christmas meals that you look forward to too?
