Changes In Living Room Inspired by RL

I haven’t been thrifting in years, but I found myself craving a little trip to the GOODWILL, so while I was in town last, I stopped in to my favorite Goodwill and the first thing I found was this Blue Ralph Lauren travel bag, which with a coupon, I purchased for only three dollars! I hung the bag in our living room which inspired a few other changes around the room.

Sometimes all it takes is a little something new to get you motivated to decorate an area of your home. When I used to thrift often, I was constantly making changes around our home.

At the Goodwill I also picked up that brown and mustard stripe O’Neil hoodie that’s hanging up. The hoodie next to the RL bag was giving my huge RL Polo Vibes and so I added the oars to the mix.

In one of my latest blog post, I shared how I dyed our red sectional sofa this Maroon Color. See It HERE. I wanted to dye the couch because I always found the Red to be hard to decorate around. And now that the sofa is Maroon, I feel like it goes so much better with other colors. I’m really liking the change.

I haven’t blogged about it yet, but I did share a few quick pictures on Instagram, but through those french doors is my son’s room, which I just pained a dark green, and then I painted and stained all of the trim and furniture in there. So now I get to have a little of the brown showing in the living room when the doors are open. I was debating on painting both sides of the french doors but there was some issues about where to stop because there is a lot of trim around it. Anyway, I may share more of that room to come.

To go along with the Ralph Lauren Look, I took down my seashell mirror and hung up a horse painting. I wasn’t quite sure what to put under it, but I think this ledge shelf works well and then I just added an old license Plate, painting, and folded maps.

The license plate, old painting, and maps are just things I’ve had for years, either given to me or thrifted. I will link similar items at the end of this post if you are interested.

I moved some things around on the old wood rack, but it’s still holds my seashell collection. You can shop this look HERE.

The light brackets are antique pieces from an old broiler in my neighbor’s basement that they gave to me, and the rope lights are from Amazon. Seen HERE.

Oh, I almost forgot, another big change was that I switched out the slipcovers on this couch. I had a white slipcover on it before and now I put on this dark grey denim one. Did you know I have two other slipcovers as well. It’s fun to mix it up.

So after I took these pictures, I decided that I wanted more of that RL Polo look, so I have moved in and out even more items and I’m excited to share those with you soon.
