Our Christmas Living Room 2020 – Phase 2

Seasons Greetings! Are you feeling the Christmas spirit yet? Our home is now fully decorated and we are enjoying the feeling of Christmas here in our little cottage home. Today I want to show you around our living room a little bit more.

Now, As you may know, I’ve already Shared our Living room decorated for Christmas this year. I blogged about Our Christmas Living Room – Phase 1 HERE. Our living room started off really pretty, warm, and neutral as you can see from this next picture. But ever since I took that picture I began adding in a lot more red, green, and other Traditional Christmas touches.

Before – Phase 1:

I liked the neutral look that I had before, but I found myself craving a more Traditional Christmas look for this year.

I first made some changes to our fireplace mantel. I took down the wicker deer head and replaced it with this large Pine and Silver wreath that I made out of leftover ornaments. I blogged how I made the wreath HERE.

Then I hung our stockings on the fireplace. My mother in law hand knit these stockings for us and we absolutely love them. But strangely, this is the first year that I have ever hung them on the fireplace.

I’ve also added a bunch of different garlands to the fireplace. Some are actual garlands, and some are just strands of fabric and cute ribbons. The silver tinsel was my husbands idea. He thought some tinsel would be fun and so we ordered the tinsel from Target. I just love the nostalgia of the tinsel and it’s also super sparkly when the light hits it.

My most favorite part ever is the new fire log insert. I have enjoyed this faux fire log SO MUCH, we have it on constantly and it’s the best thing ever! I bought it from QVC HERE but unfortunately it says that it’s currently unavailable. I did however find the same one HERE at Wayfair, it just has a different brand name. If you have a fireplace and would like to add an electric insert to it then I Highly Recommend this one to you.

And also I should mention, in case you missed it, I recently added that brick Peel and stick wallpaper to our fireplace. I blogged about it HERE and I am still shocked at how much it changed the whole look of our fireplace.

Like I said before, the Nativity was the first decoration to go up this year and I think it looks beautiful on this shelf with twinkle lights and the lighted NOEL sign above it.

And then I added faux red and green holly berry stems into the Christmas tree. Some of these berry decorations belonged to my husband’s grandma which just adds to that Traditional Christmas feeling.

This year I have placed our Christmas tree in an old white Bee Box. It fit perfectly and is a cute alternative to a tree skirt.

I placed a red plaid pillow on the wicker chair and then added a red and green plaid throw to the back of the couch. Red and plaid always feel like Christmas to me.

Just adding in some red, green, and plaid, changed the whole look and feel of the room.

So what do you think?

Which look is your favorite? Phase 1. Pretty, Warm, and Neutral or Phase 2. Red, green, and Traditional?
