Traditional Christmas Entry

Our entryway, which really is just a wall next to our front door, is one of my favorite places in our home to decorate for the holidays. This year I decorated our entry wall in a Tradition Christmas style.

I’m calling this Traditional Christmas style because I stuck to red, plaid, holly berries, reindeer, and bells and when I was finished decorating this area, I stepped back and realized that this whole look just read very traditional Christmas to me.

I’ll be back soon to share more of our living room……Again.

So first of all, I’ve rearranged our living room which left me with this chair next to the front door. The chair is in a little bit of an awkward placement but it’s just temporary for Christmas so I say it works.

On the Entry wall is coat rack that I made out of an old piece of wood that already had the antique metal label holders on it and then I added the little hooks to it. From the hooks I have bells, a red berry wreath, some faux pine stems, and a plaid vest hanging from it.

Under the coat rack I’ve hung up a black metal John Deer Weather vane that I’ve had for years.

The Multnomah Falls sign is an absolute favorite of mine and I’m sure you have seen it a million times already, but I love it. It reminds me of one of my favorite places that I have ever been.

A little tip of mine for decorating entryways is to add in coats, hats, bags, scarves, or whatever you have that has the look or the vibe that you are going for. This plaid vest ties in perfectly with the rest of my decor.

A plaid Red pillow from Homegoods completes the whole Traditional Christmas look.

What do you think?

If you have a wall next to your front door than I hope that I have given you a simple idea of how you can decorate it for Christmas.

Looks great. I love the way you use and reuse items in new ways to add a seasonal twist. And I think the chair makes the entryway look very cozy!
