I haven’t done a The Wicker House Loves _____ for a while and I thought it would be fun to put one together today.
I played hooky last Friday from work to clean and tinker around the house. Jake and I also took a drive into town for a lunch date, it was a great day. So much better than working. HA! So as I was tinkering around the house, I threw a quilt over the back of our couch and I imedantly loved the whole new look it gave our living room. I love when something so simple as a quilt, can totally change the look of a room. After looking at this picture I took, I thought that the quilt along with the horse painting gave the room a total Country Living vibe.
I have to say I love quilts, and the more worn and loved the quilt is the better. Most of my quilts were wedding gifts hand made by family members over 20 years ago! I do need to mend a few of them because they are coming apart, but I still love them all the same…maybe I even love them more.
Last year I wrote up a blog post about covering a couch with quilts and how it instantly adds cottage charm to a living room. You can read that post HERE. I remember how soft and cozy the quilts made our couch feel.
I like to snuggle up with a soft quilt, but I also think of quilts as home decor. Quilts can be hung on the back of a couch, a railing, or on a bed of course, they look lovely folded on the end of a bed, but I also love the look of quilts just folded up on an open shelf or on top of a trunk or basket, or anywhere where it is seen and a part of your home decor. The patterns and colors can really make a statement in a room. This image below is from Pottery Barn (2010 era), but it is forever engraved in my mind. I’m still in love with this look of a quilt hung up on a wall behind a sofa. Pottery Barn is a great place to shop for new quilts, Check out these ones.
So for fun I went to ETSY, which is another great place to shop for quilts and I pulled together some of my favorites to share with you.
Just keep in mind that if you do purchase any of these quilts, be sure to read up on them first. Some of these quilts are Vintage, some are made with recycled fabrics, and some are made to order. Also all of the sizes varies so keep that in mind as well.
If you do purchase any of these quilts, then I say thank you. These are affiliated links which mean I may make a small profit from your purchase.
