Today I want to share a fun little idea with you and that idea is to cover your sofa in quilts. I added a couple of quilts to our couch and I am absolutely loving the Cottage charm that they added to our living room.
As you know we have a large red sectional couch in our living room. I was wanting to give our red couch a softer look for summer and so I tucked a couple of quilts into the couch cushions. I then added a ton of extra throw pillows to our couch which added so much coziness into our living room.
The quilts not only added a fun country cottage look to this space but they also brought in more pattern and interest into the room.
The quilts also make the couch feel so much more comfortable to sit on. We don’t let our Great Dane on the couch because she has her own chair and we like to have at least one dog-free place to sit in our home, but I’m sure this would be a wonderful idea for all pet owners. The quilts can easily be removed for washing, or even flipped around between washings and it just makes for a cozy place to snuggle up and take a nap.
And then since I had my camera out, I just took a few other pictures of our living room. Here you can see the bookshelves that are behind the couch. I’ve added touches of red into the decor on these shelves to create a cohesive look around our home.
And then above the couch I have a wood shelf that holds my collection of lighthouse pictures. I’ve taken all of these Lighthouse pictures myself from various trips to the Oregon Coast.
