The older my sons get, the less exciting Halloween gets. I use to love Halloween, but when I think back, it was having two little boys, dressing up in fun costumes, having school parties, and being hyped up on sugar, that really made the Holiday fun. Now that they are teens and no longer go out trick-or-treating the holiday just has never been the same. Can other moms out there relate? Also, a note to moms and Dads with little ones, Enjoy it! It really is a special time.
I wasn’t even planning to decorate, but once I got my tub of decorations out, I couldn’t stop. My oldest son helped and we decorated the front of our home all spooky for Halloween, which is next week.
My favorite part of the decorating is that I hung bats from the front porch roof. They’re hard to see, but everyone keeps running into them as they walk in and out of the house and it gives them a real scare. You can see how the bats created fun shadows in this next picture. Also note, all of the bugs and webs on the house, I thought I’d keep them there as Halloween decor. 🤣 It’s gross, I know, I have to clean the bugs off monthly around here.
But Check out this view, facing out of our front door. So Gorgeous! These trees take my breath away every October. There are three trees and they cast a warm red glow on the inside of our house. It’s amazing! You can see more of the bats here.
I also love the shadows on the house in this next picture, it really adds a spooky feeling.
As far as my Halloween decoration go, I really just have a lot of black and white decor. Not sure why I don’t have much orange. I usually downsize my decorations at the end of each holiday, and I must have slowly gotten rid of all of the orange. So to add some color to our house, besides the red mums, I grabbed handfuls of the fallen leaves and sprinkled them onto the porch. I might also pick up a few pumpkins to add to the porch as well.
My Halloween decor is mostly made up of skulls, spiders, snakes, bats, rats and tombstones, and it’s all stuff that I have collected over the years.
The large spider over the window is a favorite of mine. I’ve really had fun decorating with it over the years. Although, it’s seeing some use, when I pulled it out of the bin, one of it’s legs fell off.
Probably though, our family’s favorite Halloween decoration is this guy here. Our sweet, adorable, friendly Zombie. 😂 He also has seen better days, not sure how or when his eye got poked out.
And there you have it, Our Halloween House for 2024!
I’ll leave you here today with one more look at our beautiful tree, And……
My Beautiful new truck parked under it. 😊 I Love this Truck! It’s a Toyota Tacoma Pro and we got it a couple of months ago. We needed a new car, but ended up with a truck. I even surprised myself, I never realized that my dream car, was actually a truck. 🖤
