Backyard Campfire

Now that Fall is here I’m finding myself spending much more time outdoors. This summer was a hot one and I avoided being outside as much as possible, but now that the temperatures have cooled down a bit, I’m really enjoying just being outside.

As I was in our backyard last weekend, doing some Very much needed yard work, I decided to create a cozy little spot where my family and I could enjoy an evening by a campfire.

So the first thing I did was clean up this little brick patio area and I gave it a good sweeping. Next I brought over our metal fire pit and arranged some chairs around it.

One day we would like to get some really nice outdoor furniture, we are dreaming of an outdoor sectional couch, but for now these reclining zero-gravity camp chairs are pretty relaxing to sit in. And then we have an old metal chair, and later on I brought in a wicker rocking chair. Gotta just work with what you’ve got, right?

Next, to cozy up this spot, I brought out warm blankets and throw pillows. I basically just borrowed all of this from our living room. I also grabbed a lantern for extra lighting.

I placed a leaf patterned tray on the side table giving it a cute fall look. And then I just gotta have Angry Orchard hard cider this time of year. I think of ciders the same way I do for Pumpkin Spice – It’s a seasonal must-have.

Another drink Jake and I love to have this time of year is ABG’s (Apple Cider, Bourbon, and Ginger Beer) Recipe Found HERE.

I pulled out our roasting sticks from our camping gear so that we could roast marshmallows…….If only I had remembered to buy marshmallows at the store. Next time!

I think that we will probably spend many nights out here by the fire this fall season. It will be especially nice when our trees begin to change colors. Our backyard trees are magical when they change colors.

I shot a couple of pictures at night with my family enjoying the evening. Can you spot our dog Stormy in this next picture?

A game we like to play be the campfire is OverUnder. It’s a fun trivia game, where everyone tries to guess if the answers are over or under what the card reader guesses. Jax is big on campfire games.

Other games we like to play around the campfire are; Headbands, charades, and the ABC game. Do you know the ABC game? It’s a game where you pick a topic, ie; Starwars, Marvel, Disney, Halloween..etc. etc. and then you go around the circle and name something that has to do with the topic in Alphabetical order. So if the topic was Halloween, the first person could say, A=Autumn, the second person, B=Bat, third, C=Cauldron, as you go around in a circle. It’s my favorite game to play.

Also fun for a campfire are these flame color changing packets. They make your camp fire look so colorful and mesmerizing.

And then I’ll leave this post today, with these cuties, My husband Jake and our Stormy dog. I love this picture! 🥰

Do you have a backyard fire pit? What fun things do you like to do around yours?
