New paint and red Sectional in our Living room

I made a few changes to our living room that I’m really loving, and so I wanted to share all of the changes with you today.

Doesn’t the room look so different? My boys tell me that our living room looks better than its ever looked before, so I’m taking that as a huge win.

So the first change I made was that I painted the walls in Titanium by Benjamin Moore. The walls were white before, and even though I loved the white, I knew painting the walls a light color would really make all of the white molding stand out.

This new color is so soft that it still feels light and airy like the white did, but with this new color the room now feels more warm and cozy. I love how much paint can change up a space.

The next change to the room is the red sectional couch. We’ve had this couch for years….almost 19 years in fact. My husband and I bought this couch the first year we were married. 🙂 This couch was in our basement before, but after we inherited a new lazy boy chair from my mother in law, we did a little furniture swap. Our Ikea Ektorp sofa is now in the basement and this sectional is now in our living room. I’m really liking the change.

So next, I just did some decorating. I kept the shelf up as before and then hung my old oars above it.

On the shelf I have some bottles, plants, seashells, a shark skull, some battery operated candles, and a string of fairy lights. It looks really cute all lit up at night.

I love to decorate our home with things that remind me of the beach.

Like I always say, even though I don’t live by the beach, doesn’t mean that I can’t pretend that I do. 🙂

If you are questioning how I’ve hung the oars, if you look closely you’ll see that I just have some long screws holding them up. Nothing special here.

And then of course, I’ve loaded the couch up with a bunch of pillows. I love that I can fit more throw pillows on this couch then I could with my other one. You know I love a good pile of throw pillows. LOL!

Search PILLOW here on the blog to get more details about each of them. I made the denim pillows and then the rest of the pillows are just some favorites that I have collected over the years.

I didn’t get a picture of the rug in the room, but it’s denim as well. I like the blue and red color mix in here, feels kinda nautical to me.

On the fire place, I kept it simple and I just leaned up a large white mirror on the mantel. This mirror was hanging in our dining room previously.

If you didn’t already know, the brick on the fireplace is just a peel and stick wallpaper that I ordered from Target. It was really easy to apply and it made our fireplace look so different. You can read more about it HERE.

And lastly I’ll share a fun picture that shows our vacation gallery hallway in the background.

Last year I painted the hallway and added the cute pineapple design with a stencil. Read more about our hallway HERE.

So much color. Who am I anymore? LOL
