Crate Strainer and new dishwasher in our Kitchen

The Sunlight looked so pretty shining in on our kitchen the other evening and so I snapped a few pictures. But after looking at the pictures, I realized that I never shared our new dishwasher with you. I’m in love with this dishwasher and so it’s worth sharing about. I also got created and I’m using a wood crate as a dish stainer. Read along for more.

Our old dishwasher broke down and I went Years without one. At one point I was even using the old dishwasher as storage. I didn’t mind washing the dishes by hand so it never was an issue. Although I had done research and decided that if I was ever going to get a new dishwasher THIS DISHWASHER would be the one I would get. I just really liked the look of it.

Well then one day Jake and I were at Home Depot for something and decided to look around while we were there. We ended up in the dishwasher department and noticed that the dishwasher I wanted was on Sale. So unplanned, We just purchased it. We had their delivery team bring the new one and haul away the old one.

You Guys!!! After going years without having a dishwasher and thinking I did not mind not having one, to actually having a dishwasher was unexpectedly the best thing ever!!! I love this Dishwasher!!! It is so easy to just throw the dirty dishes in at night and have them come out all clean and sparkly in the morning. It has been so nice. This Dishwasher is a Kitchenaid Brand. It has 3 racks, which makes so much more sense than only two. It’s quiet, it works great, plus it looks really nice. To be completely honest, I liked this dishwasher most because of the handle. Yup, It was the industrial looking handle with the red detail on the ends that sold me on this dishwasher. 😊

Even though we now have a dishwasher, there are still a few things that we use often that are not dishwasher safe, or we use often enough where it just needs to be rinsed off and that’s where the strainer comes in handy, but since it’s always going to be out in the open I wanted something cute. After looking around our home, I decided that this old crate would be great, and it has been. I can lay a towel or a mat on the bottom of it and it still looks nice on the counter.

I bought my crate at Pottery Barn years ago, and unfortunately it’s no longer available and I’ve also had a hard time finding anything close to it. I will share a few similar options below, but noting that has a handle and feet like mine. I’ll keep looking and let you know if I do ever come accross one.
