Well friends 2020 has finally come to an end and what a year it has been. This year has effected each and every one of us in a way I’m sure none of us will ever forget. The Corona Virus pandemic forced many of us to spend a lot more time at home than ever before, and as much as I love being at home and really appreciated always having a good excuse for staying in, it was super sad to have to cancel vacations, miss out on traveling and many many get-togethers with friends and family, but seeing how much my boys have missed out by not being at school and seeing their friends has probably been the hardest part of it all. But I’m a true believer in the saying,
This too shall pass
and I look forward to the day when this is behind us all. I’m also a big believer in going with the flow of life and allowing whatever is to be as it is. So with that said, 2020 wasn’t ideal but we did try to make the best of things. I even managed to get quite a few blog post up and today I wanted to share the top 10 blog post of the year. These aren’t necessarily my favorite post of the year, but they were the most viewed by you. So I guess I’ll stop rambling on now and count down to my number 1 blog post. Are you ready?

Fireplace Makeover and New Canvas Art
This was actually the first of two fireplace makeovers I did this year. Here, all I really did was paint our fireplace from a grey color back to white. I also found some new canvas art that was the perfect fit for our fireplace.
And then if you missed it, I recently also added a faux brick peel and stick wallpaper and stuck it right over the black tile. You can see that makeover HERE.

DIY Vintage Mercury Glass Inspired Ornaments
This year for Christmas I recycled some old ornaments I had by painting them to resemble aged mercury glass. I think they were a fun addition to our tree this year.

Quarantine House Tour – Spring 2020
My Quarantine House tour really was just a Spring house tour but because it was during Quarantine I had a little extra time on my hands and I ended up decorating and re-decorating a few spaces in our home more than once.

My DIY Painted Floors – Part 2 How I Did It.
At the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 I spent a lot of hours sanding and painting the wood floors in our office/sunroom. The floors turned out better than before but were a ton of work. Here is the post where I shared How I did it. Keep moving on to see where Part 1 landed in this countdown.

Ralph Lauren Summer By The Sea Favorites
I found myself on the Ralph Lauren Home website one day and I was so inspired by what I was seeing that I just had to share. But here’s what really inspired ME about this post. I use to blog on a Blogger platform but Blogger had made some upgrades that honestly made blogging so difficult that it forced me to finally make the switch over to WordPress. I found an Amazing company to make the switch for me, I got a pretty new blog layout, and I have not looked back since. Best decision I made in 2020 for sure.
With all that said, This #6 post has pretty pictures in it, but the blog post itself is a total mess because of those blogger upgrades.

New Ikea Slipcover from Amazon – Beach House Inspired
For Christmas last year my Mother in Law gifted me a new slipcover for my Ikea couch. She found it on Amazon for only 100.00 But I feel So bad to inform you that it’s no longer available. But something that you may have not known is that you can find some Ikea items from third party sellers on Amazon.

My DIY Finished Floors -Part 1 – Can You Sand Your Floors With A Hand Sander.
Like I mentioned above for #7, I spent a lot of time sanding and painting the wood floors in our office, but mainly it took so long to figure out what sander to use, what stain to use, and what sand paper to use. Let’s just call it one big trial and error and this post will show you the whole long process.
There is also a Part 3 to my DIY Painted Floors that shares more of the final room makeover.

How to recycle your old denim jeans into stylish throw pillows
Here is a project that I’m super happy about. I sewed up these awesome pillows from a big pile of old denim jeans. Be sure to check this post out if you find yourself throwing away or donating denim jeans often.

New Door Color – Wythe Blue
I couldn’t go a year without changing the color of our front door. It’s something that I love to do often to give our whole house a new look and feel. This color looks very cottage-beach-house to me.
