I always love sharing books here on the blog, and I’m happy to share another book with you today. Today, I will be sharing a new cookbook I received, titled, Our American Dream Cookbook; Favorite Recipes & The Inspiring Journeys of 80 Culinary Trailblazers from Samuel Adams Brewing The American Dream. By Jennifer Glanville Love and a forward by Jim Koch, The Samuel Adams Founder & Brewer.
*Disclaimer: This book was gifted to me, but all opinions are my own. Also, this blog post contains Affiliated links which means that I earn a small commission for purchases made through these link.
Now I have to admit, when I first saw this cookbook and read the Samual Adams name, I assumed that all of the recipes inside would have Beer in them. I love beer and was imedantly intrigued. But after reading through this cookbook I soon realized that there was so much more to this book than just recipes.
Samuel Adams Founder and Brewer, Jim Koch, Created, Brewing the American Dream, a program that offers funding, mentor ship, and support to talented up-and-coming innovators who aspire to turn their dreams into reality. This cookbook showcases 80 of those entrepreneurs with over 100 recipe from shareables, lunches, entrees, sides, desserts and drinks.
Now, Not all of the recipes have Beer in them like I had originally thought, but there are still plenty of recipes that do, like this Black Lager Float with Mascarpone Ice Cream. Um Yum!
This cookbook is filled with large illustrations and easy to read recipes. I’m sharing a few pages from the book that I have marked with post-its to remember to make later. I didn’t want to giveaway too much from the book because I want you to discover the recipes for yourself, but I did want to give you a little peek of what to expect from this book.
This cookbook has something for everyone, including Vegan dishes, meat dishes, seafood, sweet desserts, and savory appetizers.
Above each recipe is a little note about the recipe, which I find so helpful and fun to read. Some of the recipes are marked if it’s a Brewer’s Favorite or an Award Winner. So you just know those recipes will be good.
Here’s an Image of the back of the book.
The first Recipe we tried from Our American Dream Cookbook was the Baby Back Ribs with Ginger-Hoisin Sauce from page 126. Jake cooked these up last Saturday for lunch and they were a Hit! The sauce is spectacular and I am already thinking about what else we can add that sauce to. This recipe alone is a reason to get this cookbook 🙂
I also always like to talk about books themselves because I do judge a book by its cover. (guilty) This is a large 240 page hard cover book with a nice sturdy cover. It has an appealing image on the front and the spine is navy blue with white writing so it looks nice sitting on a bookshelf. And again the images inside are big, colorful and alluring.
I like to keep my cookbooks mixed into my bookshelf with other types of books, mostly decorating books, but some novels as well. I think it’s so inspiring to have all types of books mixed together. This opens up a world of new ideas and possibilities to explore when just picking up whichever book is catching your eye at the moment. HERE are some of the other books I have shared here on the blog.
I have also tried to create the most cozy corner of our home to sit down and read a book. This corner is always calling to me. It’s so nice to cuddle up on the couch and flip through a book, rather than waste time scrolling on a phone.
To Sum up This Blog Post:
- I really enjoyed Our American Dream Cookbook and would recommend it to you. I think this cookbook could also make a wonderful gift. I think Men would love this cookbook just as much as woman.
- I now have a knowledge and appreciation for Jim Koch, I think he is doing wonderful things for American entrepreneurs in the food and drink industry.
- I love adding new books to my living room corner and hope to inspire you to mix your book together on a bookshelf and create a cozy spot for you to relax with a good read.
