Tropical Vibes In the Sunroom

I gave our home office / sunroom a refresh and thought I’d share it with you today. I was actually planning on rearranging the furniture and even removing the day bed out of the room, but after a little bit of furniture shuffling, I decided that this current layout actually works best for us, and so it all basically stayed as is

The day bed did get turned and placed more in the corner, but I really was ready to get rid of it all together. I took it out of the room and tried a few different chair options, but truthfully, I didn’t really like any of the looks more than the daybed.

Our Sunroom, as I like to call it because of all of the windows, is located just off of our living room through a pair of french doors.

And because our Living Room recently got a refresh with new paint and a different couch, I wanted to make sure that there was a good cohesive flow from the living room into the sunroom.

How I kept the flow cohesive from the living room to the sunroom was by sticking with the same color palate of red and blue.

I covered the day bed in my new ROXY bed sheet from Pottery Barn Teen. I love the tropical pattern on these sheets so much and I knew that the sheet would be great for adding in some red. The Sectional in our living room is Red and because red isn’t a color that I typically decorate with, I really had to search our home for anything red that I could use to tie the sunroom in with the living room. So this sheet turned out to be that perfect thing.

And then I covered the daybed with a mix of red, blue, and white pillows and a beautiful Great Dane pup. 😉

The Red pillows go to the red sectional couch so it was a no brainer to add them to the day bed.

So again as I mentioned, I was planning on moving some furniture around in here, which is quite a lot of furniture pieces, but in the end I just decided to leave it as it is.

The desk isn’t the prettiest; it’s in need of yet another paint job. I have seriously painted this thing like three times now, and for whatever reason the paint keeps peeling off. I’ve sanded, primed, and painted it like I do all of my furniture, but this desk just wants to be annoying I guess 😉 So that’s another reason why this layout is staying as is for now.

Also the dresser is in a great place where it currently is. I keep a lot of my house plants on it and they seem to be happy here. They get lots of sunlight but no direct sun in this spot. Plus the plants help to hide the eye sore of a desk.

Anyway, sorry, I’m getting off topic, this blog post was suppose to be about Tropical Vibes in our Sunroom because that’s what I named it, And Not about why I didn’t rearrange the furniture around. 🙂

I guess the reason for naming this blog post, Tropical Vibes in our sunroom is simply because I thought the room was giving off a tropical vibe from the floral bed sheet and all of the plants in here. Which really is all you need to create a tropical vibe in your spaces. So if the tittle of this blog post had you wanting advice on how to add tropical vibes to a space, then my answer is with a tropical print and lots of plants.
