I love the combination of apples and peanut butter, how about you? Apples and Peanut Butter is a snack that I often turn to whenever I’m craving something savory and sweet. So when making me a bowl of oatmeal one Sunday morning, I thought, “I wonder how well Apples and Peanut Butter would go together with oatmeal.” So I tried it. Liked it. And then decided to pass along the recipe to you so that can give it a try too.
I’m currently doing the Starch Solution diet, which is a whole food, plant based diet. I’m really liking it and have already lost 10 pounds! And so this recipe is Starch-Solution-Approved! But that doesn’t mean you have to be on the diet to enjoy it.
Ingredience
- 1/2 Cup of Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 medium size Apple – cut into small pieces
- 2 Tbs of Peanut Butter (PB2 for Starch Solution diet)
- 1 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup non-dairy Milk (soy, almond, or oat)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 2 tbs Raisons (not Starch Solution approved, but it sounds like it would be good in this)
Directions
- Cut apple into small bite size pieces.
- Add apple pieces to cereal bowl with oats and water.
- Microwave for 2 minutes.
- Add non-dairy milk, and raisons (optional) Microwave for 1 minute more
- Sprinkle on Cinnamon and Sugar.
- Drizzle with Peanut Butter. (PB2 needs to be mixed with water first- use directions on label).
- Stir and Enjoy!
Notes
- If you like your Oatmeal more rich and creamy, substitute milk for water.
- You can always make this on the stovetop instead of in the microwave.
- If you are not doing the Starch Solution diet, then you could add raisons and/or walnuts.
I plan to share more about the Starch Solution Diet with you some day, but for now I’m still learning about it and experiencing ways to make it more suitable for me, and so I want to give it a little more time before I start sharing about it. But so far I really like it.
Are you familiar with the Starch Solution Diet? or are you interested in learning more?
Anyway, either way I hope that you will give this Apple & Peanut Butter Oatmeal recipe a try.
