Decorating with Vintage Skis

Source

I have wanted a pair of Vintage Skis for a very long time.

When I was in town for my Grandma Nora’s funeral,  I took a walk through her home.  Sadly, I realized that would probably be the last time I would get to.  So I really tried to soak it all in.  I touched and smelled everything and took a few photos.

I also  wanted to find a few special items that I could keep, Cherish and Love.  Of course I got my straw hats that I posted about here.  I’ll be sure to share them with you another day.

I also found an old blue chest that was full of old toys. I just love it.

And then as I was walking through her garage,  I looked up and saw a couple pairs of old wooden, Vintage Skis.  I was so excited.  I just took one pair.  I think Jake thought I was crazy,  but he strapped them onto our car and drove them all the way home, because he’s the best.

I’ve just put them in my entry way here so I could snap a picture of them,  but I have big plans to use them with my holiday decorating.

By the way, I hope that I don’t sound too greedy taking my Grandmas things…..but Oh My Goodness!  My Grandma had so many great pieces,  In just my style,  Old, Chippy and Used.  I will Cherish them forever!

I have come across a ton of great pictures of

that I thought I’d share.  I’m sure it will have you all on the lookout for some vintage skis as well.

Great ideas! Beside the sentimental value, these are really neat for decorating. I have been wanting to come across an old set of oars! Hubby doesn't get it!

    Happy Holidays, Emily!

Very cool skis and even better that they have some family history. I think it is great that you were able to keep some things of your Grandmother and very cool that you found similar things to like. Thanks for linking to my skis on our porch. I'm using them again this year, and adding skates too.

Love 'em all. We live in Denver and are BIG skier/snowboarders, this would be awesome in our home:)

Yup. I now have something new to want! I love your old skis. And I love that they were your grandmas. That blue box look pretty cool, too.
It's a sad thing to be in a grandma's house for the last time. But, it might not be the last time! I found out that my grandma's old house was for sale, so I walked through it after Thanksgiving. It was nice.

Now I need a set of vintage skis (do you think anyone found that other pair Grandma hid?)so I can copy that Pottery Barn pic with my bench and shelf duo! Sooo cute. Maybe I should put some logs in my cubbies too. Or, would that be weird; I don't have a fireplace? I'm definitely borrowing the plaid quilt idea, but I'll just pretend like it was my own. What would I do without your great idea-posts, Em?

PS- I love that you got Grandma's old chest. It looks cute in your home.
