One of my favorite things about fall is the weather. The cooler weather always feels so nice after the scorching heat of Summer, but yet it’s not too cold to be able to enjoy the outdoors. There’s also a crispness in the air and Fall just has a certain smell to it too that is all so welcoming.
When the lovely, Alicia, fromA Burst of Beautiful invited me to join her and some other blogging friends for a fall tablescape tour, I immediately said Yes, and I knew right away that I wanted to create an outdoor fall tablescpae to enjoy the weather and smells of fall with my friends and family.
I also knew right away that I wanted to use copper in my tablescape. Copper is so on trend right now and the warm color of copper pairs so well with the fall season. I picked up some copper spray paint and used it to paint four metal coffee cans and six dollar store round pizza pans.
I wasn’t sure how they would turn out, since the lid of the spray paint looked kinda pink and shiny, so I was really pleased to see that the actual color is more dull and realistic looking.
I pulled up some decorative grass from our yard and placed a bundle of it into each of the four coffee cans. I think the four cans down the middle of the table make for a beautiful centerpiece.
As for the dollar store pizza pans, I used those as plate chargers and I think they turned out beautiful and elegant looking.
I moved our picnic table from the patio to the grass because I thought the wood fence and bushes would make a pretty backdrop for my tablescape.
I placed a white piece of wool over the picnic table bench to make it more comfortable and cozy.
The place settings are really quite simple. Over the copper charger is a dinner plate and white cloth napkin. I didn’t want to bother with a napkin ring, or name card because I wanted my table to have a casual feel to it. I also just used glass jar mugs that I also picked up from the dollar store years ago.
My friends drink wine from jars anyway. Ha Ha, it’s true!
My favorite part about this tablescape has got to be the copper coffee cans (Copper Coffee Cans…say that 5 times fast 🙂 )
I think they turned out so pretty. I’m sure I’ll be finding more uses for them in the future.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope that I have inspired you to create an outdoor fall tablescape of your own to enjoy this beautiful season. And if not, perhaps I have inspired you to spraypaint something copper 🙂
Now, let’s go see what my blogging friends have come up with.
