This weekend I took a few minutes to clean up our living room, fluffed some pillows, and move a few thing around. Sometimes all it takes is a little attention to breath new energy into a space. The room felt new and refreshed and so I took a few pictures to share with you today.
Everything you see in the room is something I have blogged about in the past. I’ll try to link back to prior post as we go along, but if you do have any questions about anything just let me know, I’m always happy to answer them.
One of the things I moved around is these wicker picnic baskets that I added to the top of this antique wood shelf. I like how they added texture and hight to this space.
I then added in a bunch of nautical touches, like the ship on the mantel, the round bowl on the coffee table with a candle and rope in it, and a mix of red and blue pillows.
The ship is an antique that I have had for years. I’ve always love how much drama it creates to a space.
The mix of wicker also adds a lot of texture and interest to the room.
The red couch is super old but we still love it because it’s so comfortable. We are all about relaxed living around here. A home that is cozy and lived in is the most important to me.

Now that I’m linking back to prior post, It appears that I never blogged about the last time I painted this wicker furniture. I need to do that. But if you are interested, I’ll just let you know, I used Rustoleum spray paint in a color called, Espresso. It’s a lovely dark brown. And then on the coffee table, I also brushed it with a little bit of gel stain that I had out when I was gel staining the floors. It’s a cool process, so I’ll be sure to blog about it sometime soon. I’ve been wanting to paint more wicker with this technique so a tutorial should be coming.
