Red Door in Entryway

I painted our front door RED!!! Whenever I paint our front door, I always paint both sides of it, the exterior side and the interior side as well. Today I’m going to share with you the Interior Side of the door and then I’ll be back soon to share how the red door looks on the Exterior of our home.

This is the fifth time that I have painted our front door in the eighth years that we have lived here. I love to change the whole look of our home just by painting our front door. You can search “DOOR” here on the blog to see more of each look.

Colors shown above: 1. Night Scape by Valspar 2. Obsidian by Olympic 3. Smokey Eyes by Kilz 4. Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore 5. Caliente by Benjamin Moore

This Red is Called Caliente by Benjamin Moore. It is the Same Color that I just painted our Kitchen Cabinets With. {SEEN HERE} I love how our Kitchen Cabinets turned out and so because I had some extra paint on hand I thought I’d just go ahead and paint the front door in this red as well.

I guess I’m kinda on a red kick right now. I’m just really loving the big burst of energy that the color Red is bringing into our home. ❤️

As far as styling our entryway, I really kept it super simple. I’ve just added a white coat hook to the wall and then I hung a straw bag, denim shirt, and a beach hat on to the hook. And then for a fun added touch I’ve also hung a horseshoe on the wall to bring in good luck.

The old white bench was a yard sale find from years ago, it holds all of our winter gear like hats, scarves, and gloves and so it’s handy to have in our entryway.

A have a couple of cute pillows on the bench. I blogged about the white one HERE. And I blogged about the red striped one HERE.

The curtains are from Ikea forever ago and then you can learn more about our new Plantation Shutters in This Post. I Absolutely LOVE our Shutters.

So Like I said this red paint was left over from when I painted our Kitchen Cabinets. So this Paint is the Cabinet Trim and DoorPaint from Easy Care / found at True Value. This Paint is in a Satin Finish. The Cabinet paint is great because it leaves a smooth finish with no brush marks and it’s washable and adheres nicely. I highly recommend this paint! But just so you know, the color RED takes at least three coats to cover fully, and so it might be a little more work, but I say it’s worth it.

So tell me, What do you think of my New Red Door in our Entryway? And like I said, I’ll be back to share how the red door looks from the Exterior of our home. So stick around!

Love red! I live in a 1834 farm house in Wisconsin and both my exterior doors and the door leading to the basement are a dark red! Throughout the entire house there are pops of that same dark red here and there… a red bench, a small red table, a red star on a barn board wall hanging… you get the idea!!

I love it! Red doors are so fun and pops of red in a home is so refreshing. That’s amazing that your home was built in 1834. I bet it’s filled with so much charm. Thanks for stopping by the blog and for leaving a comment. I appreciate it!
