My two little boys are excited to share their new room with you all today.
They think it turned out pretty cool.
The first thing we did was paint a wall in chalkboard paint.
You can see that post HERE.
We have all had lots of fun drawing all over it.
The next thing we did was paint the ceiling, built-ins and trim in the same white as the rest of the house.
After that we painted two of the walls in a great boyish-blue color from Benjamin Moore called,
Soft Jazz
I ordered the prints of my boys through walmart.com
A 20 x 30 poster cost only $9.99 and then only a dollar something to get them shipped.
I was sooo thrilled when they arrived at my door.
I was worried that they may be a bit grainy, but they were picture perfect!
I framed them in some black picture frames, also from Wal-mart.
I decided to paint the back wall white instead of blue.
I thought it would break up the room a bit and keep it from looking too dark.
I then made the wood shelves that hang above the desk.
I found an old board in the garage, had Jake saw it in half (saws freak me out)
Sanded it, stained it, attached some grey brackets and hung them up.
I filled the shelves up with the boy’s sports pictures, baseball hats, an old milk tin that I recently found at a yard sale, a spiderman toy and some shark teeth. The red arrow sign came from a fun junk store here in town.
I found this old wire locker bin at a yard sale as well.
It’s a Great Room for 2 little boys.
Thanks for stopping by,
Liam & Jaxon
fabulous! i love the swordfish on the wall!
Hi Emily, I love the whole room – just my kind of room! Glad your boys love it! I love the swordfish too – one of those is definitely on my 'want' list 🙂
Boyishly perfect! Love that shade of blue. I love how you used REAL boy items to decorate – hats, balls, and lego. It makes the room more real and liveable!I can see why your boys love it!
Charming room! Well done! But I don't like the black frames. Sorry.
Whoa this is so amazing. I love the built ins. The fish on the wall is pretty awesome to.
