Hello.
Today I’m going to share pictures of my front porch with you.
This is the first year that I have really decorated it for Christmas, and I have to admit I love the warm welcoming it all brings.
Here is the wreath I made for our front door.
I started off with a plain, faux green wreath. Then at first I added some faux branches with tiny pinecone into the wreath. I also added a couple pinecones and a crazy plaid rag bow.
I hung it up and then decided I didn’t care for it too much.
Then I got the idea from Beth’s article on FOLK magazine’s website (HERE). Beth shares her idea to add real greenery to a faux wreath.
So I cut off some branched off of my pine tree out back and added them to my wreath.
I came up with the idea to use an old leather belt to hang it from.
I also added some of my real pine branches to a small faux Christmas tree we put out on our porch.
I love the wildness of it.
I then brought out my Vintage Ski’s (fromHERE), a little red stool, a metal lantern and a pile of logs.
I also scattered some faux snow around… However we did get some real snow!
It sure looks a lot like Christmas around here.
So I know these last couple of days have been devastating to everyone. My heart and prayers go out to all of those effected in this tragedy.
It’s also been a good reminder to hold your loved ones close and dear and enjoy every minute you get to share with them.
Thanks for stopping by,
Emily
I love how your entry looks-so holiday inviting-very pretty. My favorite is the
belt holding the wreath-fun idea.
This is so pretty and rustic. I love how you hung the wreath with a old belt!
Your porch looks so Christmas-y and inviting. I love seeing Grandma's skis there. Do you think she ever skied with them? Maybe Grandpa? I wrapped holly and bells around the set I took home and have them leaning against my bench. Love them! I'm so glad we were able to stroll through Grandma's garage and salvage them. Treasures.
What a welcoming sight at your door. I love all the natural elements you have put together. I am jealous of your now- hopefully we get some soon. Perhaps by Christmas Eve!!
How beautiful the wreath and everything else is. Such a gorgeous Christmas and winter welcome.
Love the wreath you made, Emily! The portico was really welcoming. Too bad the snow was too heavy here at home. I didn’t get to design ours to have at least come close to yours. Haha! How’s your front porch after the holiday? –>Leif
