Many of you are probably already aware of the very talented, Courtney Allison from the Blog, French Country Cottage. She has been inspiring me for years now. Courtney’s home, decorating style, and photography are always so remarkably beautiful. Courtney just released a new book, French Country Cottage Christmas and I am so delighted to have a copy and to share a review with you today. This book was gifted to me by the Publisher, Gibbs Smith.

First, I just want to talk about the book itself, since I do judge a book by its cover. 😉 This book has a beautiful cover image, and a lovely dark green spine so it looks nice on a coffee table or bookshelf. The book is an average-large size decorating book that is actually quite heavy in weight. The images inside are big and clear. The pictures take up the whole page on most of the 240 pages. This is a book to gather inspirations, with helpful information, but there’s not a whole lot of reading involved….. Just the kind of decorating book I enjoy.

Courtney starts out the book by sharing 25 inspiring Christmas trees. You’ll probably want to bookmark a few of the trees like I have that would be fun to recreate.

Next, Courtney shares ways to enjoy the magic of Christmas all throughout the house. Adding lights, wreaths, fresh clippings, and garlands to rooms beyond just the main living space of your home.

Isn’t her kitchen dreamy? As is her bathroom, the rest of her home, and her guest cottage.

In the book is a section about entertaining, with even a couple of recipes, and then there’s a section on handmade natural Christmas decor where Courtney shares some craft ideas and some wonderful tips for incorporating nature into your decorating.

My favorite part of the book is at the end, in a section named, Away for Christmas. Courtney has created the most lovely Christmas scenes that capture the essence of Christmas. This image of a rustic cabin is perhaps my favorite in the whole book. Isn’t it so perfect?

Okay, that’s all I’m going to share, I don’t wan’t to give too much away. I really enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it to you.
