Simple Plant Hack: Cover a Plastic Pot Using a Tote Bag

Today’s blog post is about something so simple that it seems kinda silly that I’m even writing a blog post about it.

But Hey,  I wanted to share it anyway because I thought it might be something that you would like to try, if you have never thought of this before.

I had this light denim colored tote bag (that I picked up a yard sale) and I decided to use it to cover a plastic plant pot.

All I did was open up the tote bag and stick the potted plant in it.

Really, why am I writing up a blog post about this?

LOL

It was a pretty tight fit to get the tote over the lip of the pot but I got it to fit. Then I tucked in the corners so that they wouldn’t poke out on the bottom.

I thought about cutting off the handles on the tote, but then in the end, I kinda liked them.

Another idea could be to tie a knot in the handles like pictured below, or even cut the handles at the center point and then tie them back together in a knot or bow.

Maybe you can even think of another way to use the handles.

My plants all do really well here in our sunroom/office…..

Or rather, I guess I should say, sunroom/office/Stormy’s napping room 🙂

But ya, I’m sure you have a cute tote bag hanging around your home and a potted plant, so why not give this simple plant idea a try?

What do you think?

I’m more likely to respond there anyway.

Also, if you liked this post, please give it a share on your social media channels or a Pin on Pinterest so others can see it as well.

Thank you!

I love the idea of using a tote over a plastic plant pot and it’s one I’d never have thought of. I’m heading to my stash of totes right now to find one for a pot in my entryway. Thanks.

Great! It’s such a simple idea, but can really dress up a pot.
