Our Snow Crabapple Tree in Bloom

Every spring our snow crabapple tree becomes one of the prettiest spots in our backyard. I always try to step outside and enjoy it while it lasts because the blooms only stick around for a little while before the petals begin to fall. I snapped these photos a couple weeks ago when the tree was at its peak, and I couldn’t resist sharing how lovely it looked this year.

We had to get this tree trimmed up this season because the tree has grown so tall that it was getting close to the power lines. So while it still looks beautiful here, it has actually been even fuller in years past.

This tree also bloomed earlier this year than in years past. We typically get blooms in the Middle of April, but this year it bloomed in March. The Week of Easter actually, which was so nice for the holiday.

When it’s in full bloom, it also gets full of bees, it’s fun to hear the tree buzzing away.

With the tree in bloom, it inspired me to get our back patio area cleaned up a bit. I brought back the umbrella for the picnic table, and then added a few straw hats to the metal coat rack we have hanging out here.

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but having a coat rack next to the back door is such a great idea. We find ourselves hanging all sorts of different things up here. Towels and swimsuits in the summer, Straw hats and gardening tools in the Spring, and Snow gear in the Wintertime.

Another fun flower in our backyard are these orange tropical looking ones. These are called, Fritillaries, we picked them up from Costco a couple years ago, and it’s so much fun watching them sprout up ever year. And each year it keeps getting bigger and more blooms. We want to get more of this plant…..the only bad thing, is that it smells like a skunk! Seriously, it’s a bit weird and probably even weirder is that I can’t stop smelling it. 😂

I’m excited to plant more flowers this year. But I need to be patient and wait until May when we are safe from Frost in my zone. However, I did plant these orange pansies that were okay to plant now.

What blooms do you have in your yard this time of year?
