Beach House Living Room Tour ~ Two Couches are better than one

We moved our white Ikea Ektorp Sofa back up from the basement and I’m loving the extra seating in here. At first I was worried that it would look too crowded, but it actually fits in just fine. Here let me tell you more…..

So a lot of the room probably looks the same as from the last two times I’ve shared this room HERE and HERE. But the biggest difference is the white couch. I moved the wood shelf to the corner and then I moved the two wicker chairs that were here before over to our dining room.

I also hung these two rope lights to above the couch. They use to be in our bedroom, and I really liked them there as well, so I may need to order another set. These rope lights are decently priced and come in a set of two. I blogged more about them HERE.

I have always loved this white couch. The reason it was in the basement was because when we brought up the red sectional from the basement a few years ago, we replaced it with this one, but after doing a little bit more furniture rearranging I realized that I could make room for this couch up here in our living room once again. I’m really happy about it.

It will be nice to have the extra seating whenever we have guest come over. Although, with Christmas around the corner, I am going to have to get creative with where to put the tree, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.

As I mentioned in the last living room post, I took the red slipcover off of our sectional couch, added quilts, blankets, and lots and lots of throw pillows. But just a heads up, I will be adding the red slipcover again for Christmas. It’s so fun to change things up.

I guess I also added this white bench to the room. It was also up in my bedroom before but not really being used. Here it’s a great spot to sit down to put on your shoes. I just think it’s such a cute bench and wanted to put it somewhere where it would get seen.

We are still enjoying this Tropical Palm Ceiling Fan and have now switched the little switch on it to make the air flow up instead of down. I think it adds great air flow to our home.

As you can see from out our shutters, the trees are dropping their leaves. Even though it’s November outside, inside our home still feels like Summer.

I’ve blogged about these Coconut Shell Candle before, but I really think they are amazing. They smell Good, the coconut shells are so cool, plus they make excellent gifts!! Use my code: FALLSAVINGS20 (for 20% off) and FREESHIPPING good until 12-20-23.

When my first coconut shell candle burned out, I just added a second one on top of it. I love the layered look of these candles and I think it’s so fun how I have them in a large glass jar with sand and seashells.

Speaking of seashells, I still have all of mine on this old antique baker’s rack shelf. The shelf was against the opposite wall before, but I think it’s much better here in the corner and I like that it still fits in the room even with the addition of the white couch.

The Blue and White stripe Pillow Covers are actually bed pillowcases that I folded the ends in to turn them into throw pillows. This is a little trick I do all of the time. The pillow cases are from Serena and Lily as well as the blue and white stripped fabric that is waiting to reupholster some furniture around here. I also want to let you know that SERENA AND LILY is currently having their biggest sale of the year!!! up to 70% off. So don’t wait if there’s something you’ve been wanting.

Here is a better picture of the full room. It will all be changing soon as I get out my Christmas decorations, so I just wanted to make sure I shared this room before I change it up.

I like to change things up around our home, it can be something big and dramatic like Paint or furniture, or something really simple, like pillows, lighting, or a bench. I highly recommend making changes to your home often if you don’t already. Especially when you’re not loving your home. Little changes can make all the difference.
