I wasn’t even in the market for new curtains, in fact, I really like the curtains I had hanging here before, but once I saw these Blue Tropical print curtains, I knew I had to have them for the big windows in our living and dining room.

As a recap, HERE IN THIS POST are the curtains that I had hanging previously. I will still keep them on hand because I like the idea of switching the curtains out every so often. I may even have another place for those other curtains, but we’ll have to wait and see.
These Blue Tropical Print Curtains can be found HERE ON AMAZON. They are from the same brand as the curtains that I just added to our Kitchen. I was so pleased with the curtains in our kitchen and so I figured that these other curtains would be just as great. If you missed it, Here is my blog post about our kitchen curtains.
These new curtain panels come in a set of two and so I ordered two sets so that I could have a total of four panels. Two panels for the window in our living room, and two panels for the window in our dining room.
Our dining room is painted Blue, and our living room is painted Brown. These curtains look pretty next to each of the colors, but I can’t believe how perfect they match with the blue wall color. This blue wall color is called, Van Deusen Blue by Benjamin Moore. You can see all of the current paint colors in our home HERE in this Blog Post.
I love to paint our walls, and I’m currently thinking of re-painting these walls in a tan color, but we shall see. The background in these curtains is a pretty tan-linen color and I think that color would look pretty on our walls as well. Sometimes my urge to paint gets more intense and other times it just fades, so who knows if I will re-paint or not. For now these current wall colors are great. Anyway, I should also mention that these curtains come in other colors as well like, green, grey, and yellow. You can see the other colors HERE.
As you can see from my pictures, I have shutters in my windows and so these curtains for me are purely decorative, meaning I don’t actually need them to add privacy or block out the light. But with that said, these curtains are a semi-sheer and would probably be great even without blinds or shutters. You can learn more about my plantation shutters HERE.
My two windows face south, which bring in a ton of light. So these curtains may appear even lighter in my home then if they were hanging in a north or west facing window.
My favorite thing about these curtains, and the reason why I had to have them, is the tropical leaf pattern. I just think it is so pretty. I love tropical / beach house / coastal styles and so these curtains are so perfect for our home.
My second favorite thing about these curtains is the texture to them. I was expecting these curtains to be softer, like the ones in our kitchen but these ones actually have a rustic texture to them. They are almost like a burlap, and I hate to use the word burlap because that sounds cheap, and these are not, but the texture does have a natural feel to it that I think is really beautiful. The fabric is a polyester/linen blend. The picture above can probably show you more of then texture, then me trying to explain it. 😉
I also think these are the perfect curtains for summer. If you are someone who decorates seasonally, then you may think about adding these to your home for the summer months.
Summer is my favorite time of the year to decorate our home. Granted, I decorate our home in a coastal style all year round, but in summer I feel like I can really go all out and have fun with it.
Do you have a favorite season to decorate for?
I’ll leave you here, with one last picture of my curtains because I just love them!!
Again, if you are interested, HERE is a link to the Curtains on Amazon. I highly recomend them.
