How to easily remove and reuse a wine label

A friend of mine taught me a cool trick to easily remove wine labels. So today I want to share his trick with you and also show you a couple of ways that I have reused a cute wine label.

The first place I have reused a wine label is on this old crock in our kitchen. I think that the wine label adds such a cute touch to the crock. Don’t you?

I made this video to show you how I easily removed the wine label and how I have reused the labels.

Instructions to remove label from wine bottle:

Basically all you need to do is fill an empty wine bottle with boiling hot water. Add enough water to cover the back of the label. The boiling water will loosen up the glue and allow the label to peel off easily. Let the water sit for about a minute before you carefully peel it off. The label will be sticky like a sticker and you can instantly stick it onto what ever you like.

*Be very careful pouring and handling the boiling water so that you don’t get burned.

This is such a great idea for when you come across a cute wine label that you want to keep, or even better is if the wine label has a special meaning behind it. Whether it be a wine that has a fond memory associated with it or if it was a special occasion when you drank the wine. This is just a great idea to keep the label as a precious reminder.

This cute chicken label came off of a french wine. The Label reads, “The Old Farm”…. or at least I think that’s what it says 😂. My friend said that he reused this same label and framed it. He made it into a sign, and then he hung it up on his chicken coop. His Chicken coop by the way is amazing! I wan’t to live in his chicken coop it’s that fantastic. Perhaps he’ll let me share pictures of it someday.

My label was starting to come up on the corners, so I just used some Modge Podge to glue it down better. I also used the Modge Podge over the label to seal and protect it.

Sorry, I see that I took way too many pictures of this label on my crock, but I also wanted to share real quickly, my rolling pin. When I painted our kitchen cabinets Red (As Seen Here) I used some of the extra paint to paint the handles on my rolling pin. I thought it looked cute and I have been waiting for an opportunity to share it with you, so here it is!

Something else that I want to quickly share with you is this adorable Emily’s Kitchen towel. My friend, The one with this amazing label trick, well he brought me the wine, and he also brought me this Emily’s Kitchen Towel. I Love it! Not sure where he got it, but I looked on Etsy, and HERE are some shops that make custom towels similar to this one. What a perfect gift!

So because I had two bottles of wine with the cute chicken label. I decided to also add a label to this large white bucket that I’m using to hold a plant.

Again, the label just added such a cute french farmhouse touch. I could, and I still may, destress the label and bucket with some brown/rust colored paint to give it more of an aged look. But that will be for another day.
