A Country-Heritage Style Entryway Inspired by Ralph Lauren RRL

Lately I’ve been really drawn to country-heritage style. When I hung a simple blue bandana on our entryway wall, I didn’t expect it to become such a statement, but once layered with wood, leather, denim, and a few vintage touches, the whole space took on that timeless RRL-inspired look that I just love! Today I’m sharing how this small area of our home came together and why bandanas might be one of my favorite unexpected decor pieces.

The Blue Bandana that Started it all.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a bandana while shopping, but never seemed to find one. Then the other day as I was helping my mother-in-law clean out her closet, I came across this beautiful navy bandana, I immediately fell in love with it and of corse she said I could have it. 💙 Since I didn’t have a frame that fit, I decided to keep things simple and used tiny nails at each corner to hang it on the wall. This little bandana ended up being the starting point for the whole entryway design.

Layering Leather, Denim, and Wood

Next, I wanted to really give this area more of that Ralph Lauren RRL–inspired look by mixing rugged textures and vintage character. I hung up this old wooden rack that has cool metal label brackets on it and some hooks. This rack is perfect for hanging up a leather coat, denim jacket, and a hat for that collected, worn-in feel that I was after.

I love to visit the Ralph Lauren Store in Las Vegas. It has a Double RL Section in the back. It is so inspiring. I even wrote a blog post up about it With Pictures! You can read about it [HERE].

Vintage Touches that add Heritage Style

I picked up a few of these old black and white photography prints at a yard sale years ago. I love the vintage feel of them. I have one of the prints hanging here in our entry way and I think it fits in perfectly. I also hung a lucky horseshoe. I tied a little piece of twine around the horseshoe to hang it from. I love adding equestrian and western decor to our home.

Why Bandanas Make unexpected Wall Decor

Bandanas bring in that effortless, lived-in character that feels both vintage and a little western. I love how the soft pattern and faded tones add design without overwhelming the space. It’s such a simple idea and it’s a very affordable way to add color and a hint of heritage into a room.

Styling Bandanas for the Table

Another fun use for bandanas is to use them as cloth napkins. I love how this red one looks in a wood napkin ring. I need to get me some more bandanas so I can create a whole table setting with this rustic look. I think the bandana adds such a relaxed country look.

As simple as it is, this little bandana moment has quickly become one of my favorite parts of our entryway. It’s a reminder that meaningful decor doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether hung on the wall or styled at the table, bandanas bring an easy, collected charm that feels perfectly at home. I hope this inspires you to look at everyday pieces in a new way and create something personal in your own home.
