What I bought at the Thrift Store and Where I placed it in our home.

Isn’t it funny how a quick thrift store stop can totally shift your mood and spark ideas? That’s exactly what happened to me the other day. I walked out with a few treasures that I couldn’t wait to get styled and share the fun with you!

We had family visiting for Easter, and they wanted to check out some of the shops in our little town—which, I’ll admit, doesn’t have a ton to choose from. But we did pop into a local thrift store, and I was excited to come across a few fun finds to bring home with me.

Pictured above is what I brought home with me. I’ll admit, I was tempted to grab more, but I’ve been trying to be mindful about what I bring into our home. So I kept it to just four things: a book, some pretty fabric, a blue basket, and a lidded jar.

The fabric was wrapped in plastic, so I wasn’t exactly sure how much there was, but once I got it home and unwrapped it, I’d say it’s about two yards. Even though it was new, I tossed it in the wash because it had a shiny, waxy finish to it that made it feel a bit stiff. But after I washed it it came out of the dryer nice and soft.

As you can see, I used the fabric to cover a cushion on this white bench next to our front door.

I simply wrapped the fabric around a cushion—no sewing or upholstering involved. This way, if I ever decide to use the fabric somewhere else in our home, it will be easy to switch things up.

It’s a little hard to see, but the fabric has a bit of maroon in it, and as you know our couch is maroon and so the colors of this fabric really works well in the room.

I just love how it turned out, so excuse me for sharing a lot of pictures of it.

I also just wanted to share more pictures of this entryway because it looks a bit different from when I shared it last. The bench was in a different spot, but I think it will work okay here. I told my son, if he starts to crash into as he walks to him room, then I will happily move it.

The horse painting, denim jacket, and straw hats is giving me Country-Summer Vibes, Which I’m loving!

Okay, we can move on now 🙂

Next up is the book that I picked up Titled, Nantucket Impressions. And it’s a lovely book. It has lots of pictures in it from around Nantucket, including down town, stores, library, churches, and my favorite part, the harbor and boats.

I removed the book jacket to reveal the navy blue color of the book. I’m a sucker for a pretty book spine and I adore this one. The blue color, with the silver writing, and that big font that clearly reads, Nantucket. What can I say, I Just Love it!

I’d say my new book fits right in to my bookshelf with the others, wouldn’t you agree?

Okay, next up is the blue basket that I bought. You know I love me some wicker, and I just couldn’t pass up this wicker basket that is also in that lovely shade of blue. I loved the shape of it and the two side handles.

I figured that the basket would be perfect to store paper napkins, and I was right. I added the basket with napkins to the shelf in our dining room. I shared this shelf not too long ago with the blue camp dishes that I added to it, and this blue basket ties in perfectly with every thing else.

I also added the lidded jar that I picked up at the thrift store to this shelf. Isn’t it Cute? I love the dutch windmill painting on it and the blue stripes on the lid. As soon as I saw it, I grabbed it and said this is coming home with me. I could not pass this little gem up.

Would you have bought it too?
