Hello!
Did you all have a good weekend?
We sure did.
We went to a local Lavender Farm and had ourselves a beautiful relaxing day.
Have you ever been to a lavender farm before?
The smell when you arrive is oh so heavenly.
This farm is own by a family here who host the lavender festival. Their property is so lovely every where you look.
My boy’s enjoyed swinging on some swings next to a creek full of ducks.
In the past years that I have gone to a lavender festival, I always cut me a big bouquet of lavender to take home. But since I now have my own lavender bush at home I decided not to.
This grapevine trellis was really neat to walk under.
The Farmhouse on the property was built 101 years ago. It is a sears home ordered from a Sears and Roebuck catalog and shipped and built on site. Isn’t it charming?
This is actually the back of the home.
This Silo was built for 3 farmers as a co-op to store their grain, today it is used to dry lavender bouquets.
The Silo has a beautiful rose garden next to it.
The festival had a few fun vendors, Lavender doughnuts, tea, lemonade and ice cream, You could enjoy lunch under the orchard trees, make lavender wreaths, listen to live music, or just relax in a lavender lawn chair in the shade.
Exploring the farm we also found chickens, sheep and old cars.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and can’t wait to go again next year.
Thanks for stopping by,
Emily
This was lovely. We are actually going to be starting our lavender farm in Fall. I love seeing them.
Hugs,
