Plaid and tartan wallpaper have always captured my heart 💙 and lately, you can say I’ve become a little obsessed with them. (you’ll see) I’ve been imagining how plaid wallpaper could transform every corner of our home. In this post, I’m sharing how I’ve visualized plaid wallpaper throughout our rooms.
All of these Images are mine taken of our home, but I did use an AI tool to add the plaid wallpaper. All of these images (without the wallpaper) were recently shared in my Christmas Home 2025 Tour, where I gave a closer look at our home dressed for the holidays. Our living room looks so much cozier with plaid wallpaper!
I created the plaid wallpaper in these images by uploading my photos into Instagram Stories and using the Restyle tool with the prompt “add plaid wallpaper.” I let it generate a few different looks, then saved my favorites. This is just the method I used for these images, but tools like ChatGPT and other AI programs can do this as well.

After seeing the results in the first image, I couldn’t stop. I started trying it on more photos throughout our home. It was so much fun, and I was honestly blown away by the results.
How Perfect is the Red Plaid Wallpaper for Christmas?
I was surprised by how much I loved the look of plaid wallpaper in every room of our home. The color didn’t seem to matter either, I genuinely liked every version.
I loved the way these images turned out with the plaid wallpaper so much that I saved them all to share here on the blog, and, admittedly, so I can enjoy looking at them again and again.
Do you think plaid wallpaper would work in a Kitchen?
So, of course, after seeing all of these images of my home, I headed straight to Amazon to search for plaid wallpaper. I found so many great options that I’ll be sharing them at the end of this post.
I especially love how the plaid wallpaper looks on our fireplace. If I do add plaid wallpaper to our home, the fireplace will definitely be the first place I try it.

My kitchen and bedroom already have wallpaper, but I’d be willing to remove the existing patterns to add some plaid.
Plaid Wallpaper is Perfect for a Rustic Bedroom
I just can’t get over how much of a statement the plaid wallpaper makes. It adds instate cozy and style to my home. I also feel like it’s so versatile. I could still decorate in my coastal, cottage, farmhouse style with any of these plaids.
Okay, I saved the best for last, how cute and cozy does my kitchen look here? I’m seriously obsessed and really think it’s time to get some plaid wallpaper for real!
