I thought I was done decorating my home for Christmas, but today I added a few things to our main bathroom, and it turned out pretty cute, so I wanted to share it with you. I will also add a few pictures of our bathroom to my 2025 Christmas Home Tour as well.

Because this bathroom already had a Nautical/Fisherman Cottage look to it, I wanted to keep that look but incorporate a little touch of Christmas in with it.

I have always loved the blue tile countertop in here, The blue tile makes it really easy to decorate this room in a nautical-fisherman cottage style.

A Red Tartan Shower Curtain adds So Much Style to a Bathroom
To add a touch of Christmas to this bathroom, the first thing I did was add this red and green plaid shower curtain. But to be honest it isn’t really a shower curtain. I actually cut a flannel bed sheet and hung it up as a shower curtain. I literally just poked the holes into the fabric using the shower hooks. I may have my mother-in-law sew button holes later, but honestly you don’t even notice them.

If you’re looking to get a plaid shower curtain then I think THIS ONE looks like a good one.

Add a Fisherman Cottage Touch with Boat Buoys
I had these boat buoys hanging up already, but to add a festive look to them, I also added a real pine branch, more rope, and some starfish. This whole thing makes this Sea-Gal so happy. 😀

I hand made the Bathroom sign years ago. You can read more about how I made it HERE. I think it’s fun having it hanging above the door.

I just plopped a couple of mini trees into a metal bucket, and added a Pine Scented candle to finish up with my Christmas decorating in here. THIS is the candle that I’ve got burning. I Love a good Pine Scented candle and burn it all Winter long.

Old Metal Buckets Make The Perfect Fisherman-Cottage Decor.
Other things in the room that fit into that Coastal Fisherman-Cottage style are:
- Old Galvanized Metal Buckets
- Rope
- Boat buoys
- Manly Scents
- Wicker and wire baskets
- Nautical Decor
- Fishing Gear (That green metal object on my counter is actually a fishing thing that you attach to your belt and it holds worms)

I talk more about these faux wood blinds in THIS BLOG POST. We’ve had them for years now and I still like them. I like that you can of course open and shut the blinds but they are also cordless, so you you can pull them up and down easily. I also just really like the color of wood on them.

And I’ll leave you with a few pictures taken from the hallway looking in.
