At the beginning of Summer I shared this little Fairy Garden that I created. You can view that Post HERE. In that post is also a lot of fun resources so that you can create or add to your own fairy gardens.
Also in that first Fairy Garden blog post, I mentioned how this fairy garden wasn’t really planned, it just sort of came to be little by little. It all started with an old tree stump that we had laying around the yard, and I decided to turn the stump into a planter. From there I’ve just kept adding to this space all summer long.
But I always knew that this fairy garden was going to look extra cute in the Fall when the mums started to bloom, and I was right. Those mums were left over from last year’s Costco planters, and I almost threw them out when the season was over, but I lazily just tossed them in the side yard instead. And then came Spring and I could tell that these mums still had a little life left in them and so I planted them in the tree stump and crossed my fingers that they would bloom again in the fall and sure enough they did!
Moral of that story, if you buy a pot of mums this fall season, hold onto them because they are perennials and will bounce back in the Spring.
It’s just fun to think that none of this was even here before this summer. It was literally just a big dirt area. And then throughout the summer I just kept transferring grasses and other plants that I’d prune from other areas of our yard to add to this space. I plan to keep adding to it every year and hopefully one day It will be one big flower/fairy garden.
Anyway, I just got super excited to see those sweet little yellow mums blooming and I wanted to make sure that I shared that with you.
I think Stormy likes the fairy garden too because I keep finding her checking it out. But who knows, maybe she’s just keeping an eye out for those fairies?
How’s your Fall garden looking this time of year? Do you have pretty mums growing too?
Be sure to give this a Pin on Pinterest for later. Just hoover over any of the images for a quick Pin It Button.
Thanks for stopping by today,
