The last time I shared this shelf in our kitchen, it was all decked out for Easter. But lately, I’ve been in a bit of a coastal mood, so I decided to give the space a refresh with some beachy-themed decor I’ve collected over the years.

I hung this simple shelf in our kitchen last year, and since then, I’ve had so much fun swapping out the decor on it. It may be just a basic shelf, but it’s the perfect little spot to play around with different styles and seasonal touches.

I’ll link some similar items at the end of this blog post in case something catches your eye. That said, most of the decor in our home is made up of pieces I’ve collected over the years. These days, I rarely buy anything new unless I know it’s something I’ll truly love for a long time.

Some of this decor actually came from past coastal vacations. The “Crab Shack” sign and the anchor dish towel were both fun little souvenirs I picked up along the way.

Whenever I share our kitchen, I always get questions about the wallpaper. You can see more of it [HERE]. It was definitely a splurge, so I only bought one roll and made it stretch by using every last bit to cover just the front area of our kitchen.

Having hooks in the kitchen is such a great idea, not only are they practical for hanging aprons, towels, and shopping bags, but those everyday items often come in cute fabrics with fun sayings or logos. So they can double as decor and add a playful touch of personality to your space.

Honestly, looking at this next photo, I might’ve gone a little overboard with all the shopping bags hanging around Ha! But I have a few cute ones that I love keeping out, just because they’re fun to look at and nice to have on hand.

On the shelf, I have an antique enamel salt box and a little dish labeled “Sugar.” I’ve always thought dishes with words are such fun finds! Both of these were happy little thrifted treasures. And I can’t forget the adorable whale salt and pepper shakers—they were a gift, and I absolutely adore them!

And then around the corner I have a pair of old boat paddles. Again, just a lucky 2nd hand find that I’ve had and loved for years.
