7 Home Decorating Books I added to my collection.

I always love to share new decorating books with you. You can see other books I’ve shared in the past HERE. I have actually been meaning to write up this blog post for quite some time now, but since I just received a few more books, I figured now would be a great time to sit down and share them all.

Pictured about are the seven books I want to share with you today. The four books on the left side I ordered Last fall. I was wanting to add some new decorating books to my collection and after searching around on Amazon I picked out those four books. And then the three books that are pictured above on the Right side, I actually just won from a Giveaway on Instagram. The Publisher, Rizzoli was having the giveaway and I entered it and won, I was so excited. I dream of having these two bookshelves in our home filled will beautiful books that inspire me to be more creative.

So to share these seven books, I’m first going to say a little something about each of the books; what the book is about, and who I think the book is for, and then I will share a quick video of me flipping through the pages. I feel like the video is the best way to get a sense of the book. I will also share a link to where you can purchase the book if you are interested.

*Disclaimer: these are affiliated links which means that I receive a small commission from your purchase, but this does not effect your order in any way.

THINK LIKE A DECORATOR To Create a Comfortable, Original, and Stylish Home by Leslie Banker is loaded with everything you need to know to become your own interior designer. The author, Leslie, grew up in the design world, her mother was an interior designer and taught her every part of the business. With notes that her mom left behind, Leslie finished this book that they had once started together. This book includes interviews and interiors from other amazing designers, including, Tom Scheerer, who is a personal favorite of mine. I think this book would be perfect for someone who is interested in Interior design and wants to learn how to achieve a designer look in their own home.

A HANDCRAFTED LIFE Creating a Sustainable Cottage Sanctuary by Tiffany Francis-Baker is certainly one of the sweetest books I have ever read. This book is all about slowing down, being mindful, embracing nature and home, living sustainable, and enjoying life. This book is for anyone who loves the CottageCore aesthetic and wants to be inspired to live a simple and more humble life.

NEW AMERICANA by Holly Kuhn of Old Glory Antiques is about creating an authentic, comfortable, and beautiful home. I really love Holly’s style and can relate to her decorating style. (We even have the same Wall color on our walls – Texas Leather by Benjamin Moore). Typically when you think of Americana you think of red, white, and blue home decor with stripes and stars, but in this book, Americana is more of a celebration of the American spirit that is hardworking, practical, resourceful, honest, and with the appreciation for the simple beauty of everyday life. This book is for anyone who loves rustic decor mixed with white walls and lots of antiques.

NORA MURPHY’S COUNTRY HOUSE STYLE Making Your Home a Country House is probably my favorite out of all seven of these books. I adore Nora and have been inspired by her ever since I first discovered her. Nora’s style is country farmhouse but there is a coastal influence there as well. This book is not just of her home, but of five other homes as well, so you can learn how to incorporate country house style even if you don’t live in the country. This book is for anyone who loves Country Farmhouse, English Cottage, and French Country styles.

CURATE Inspiration for an Individual Home by Lynda Gardener and Ali Heath is a book that explores eight elements that help transform a space; Palette, nature, textiles, lighting, old and new, storage, collection, and art. I follow a lot of Australian decorators on Instagram and Lynda is one of them. I find her monochromatic color schemes and play on textures to be inspiring and cool. This book is for someone who loves black and white color schemes, modern interiors, and Moody feels.
